The deadline for the Pittsburgh Steelers to negotiate a long term contract with star running back Le’Veon Bell has officially past. Last year, Bell held out of OTA’s, minicamp, and training camp in an effort to negotiate a long term contract, maybe he will hold out again this season. Bell’s agent stated that this will likely be the last season his client plays with the Steelers.
This is really only a big deal because of the fact that he may be sitting out for an extended period of time. This will matter to fantasy football team owners. Le’Veon Bell is a great talent that most owners want. He may be sitting out longer than last season where he was back in the lineup in time for week 1. The only reason I say this, is if he truly is leaving the team, he will be trying to preserve his health for free agency.
