Bolts – Capitals: Over 14 years since they made the finals

Game 7

Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals

As if the Stanley Cup Finals have not been exciting enough we are approaching Game 7 of the Eastern Conference tonight. With the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Washington Capitals, both of these the teams are eager to take the win to advance on to the Stanley Cup Finals against the Golden Knights.

The last time the Capitals played in the Stanley Cup Finals was in 1998 against the Detroit Red Wings. However, their performance was pitiful. The Capitals were swept in four straight games. Granted they have a much better team know then they had back in 98. Alexander Ovechkin (Team Captain) and Evgeny Kuznetsov are currently sitting in 1st and 2nd for the points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Though the Tampa Bay Lightning have won the Stanley Cup back in 2004 against Calgary Flames. That was 14 years ago and the game has evolved. The Bolts need to score early and hold the Capitals defensively. This is going to be the 19th game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the Capitals. You can expect that the most of the players are playing with some sort of injury on both sides.
